Global Wind Service (GWS) has promoted former sales director for offshore and service Thomas Bak Mathiasen to its chief commercial officer (CCO).
The move forms part of a reshuffle in the senior management team aimed at strengthening the company’s position and enhancing commercial business development operations.
With his proven track record and great knowledge within the organisation and from various roles in the industry over the years, Mathiasen (pictured) will take on the responsibility for the continued success of GWS’s sales strategy and client relations.
In conjunction with Mathiasen’s appointment, Lars Petersen, the former chief commercial officer and co-founder of GWS, has transitioned into a new role dedicated to focusing on commercial business development, partnerships, and M&A opportunities.
This move is made to leverage Petersen’s extensive industry experience and strategic insights to drive the company’s growth initiatives and forge new pathways.
Co-founder Michael Nielsen has returned to Europe after spending the last 6 years in the US building up Global Wind Service US Inc.
Nielsen steps into a dedicated role focusing on the company’s technical talent management as part of the senior management team. Nielsen will use his experience and significant operational knowledge to bridge the right people and technical skills across functions to ensure that we will meet our operational ambitions, said GWS.
“I am confident that this management reshuffle will significantly strengthen our team’s capability and align perfectly with our strategic intention of being at the forefront within our field,” said GWS chief executive Michael Hoj Olsen.
“Lars’ transition into commercial business development reflects our ambition to grow and pursue new business opportunities within our industry, and Michael Nielsens new role underlines our commitment to the development of our field staff, while Thomas’ appointment to chief commercial officer showcases our ability to nurture and promote exceptional talent from within.”
