Enviromena preps 400MW UK solar pipeline for planning

Enviromena has unveiled plans to submit its 400MW solar pipeline in the UK to planning.

The Reading-based clean energy company will submit the projects in the pipeline into the planning process in the next six months.

Enviromena recently announced intentions to grow its constructed and operational UK portfolio to over 500MW by 2025.

These latest 400MW of projects are located across the UK from Dorset to Durham are part of a larger expanding pipeline of over 1.5GW of projects which Enviromena’s in house development team is progressing.

In addition to the 400MW of projects about to enter the planning process, Enviromena currently has 110MW of solar projects which are expected out of planning by the end of March 2024.

Mark Harding, Enviromena’s European Development Director said: “This is a significant milestone for us as we push forward in the delivery of these projects.

“As well as providing cleaner energy, the developments are well-thought out and are designed by our teams to blend in with the landscape and give consideration to local wildlife.

“Over the coming months we will be continuing our engagement with local people and councillors regarding each of our schemes ensuring that the project designs and plans consider the valuable feedback provided by local communities, ahead of the submission of each planning application.

“We have seen a number of our sites receive unanimous planning approval from local councils in recent times, which goes to show the eagerness and appetite for clean energy facilities – especially at a time when fuel prices continue to look uncertain.

“Our growing pipeline demonstrates our commitment to delivering high volume clean energy projects to the UK market and the next six months will be hugely exciting for us, as we prepare to submit over 400MW of ground mounted solar projects into planning.

“Once approved and constructed these projects will make a massive contribution to lowering carbon emissions and providing clean energy to tens of thousands of homes.”

Last month Enviromena announced that the construction of two further sites, Horsey Levels in Somerset and Kiln Fields in Hampshire, totalling 42MW were nearing completion with energisation due to take place in early 2024.

These sites follow Three Maids Hill in Winchester, which was energised in late 2022, and Enviromena’s first solar farm in Wales – Bryngolwg – going live in October 2023.
