The French government has chosen 73 projects totalling 1156MW in its latest onshore wind tender.
The projects will produce electricity for an average price of €85.29/MWh.
The tender was oversubscribed with over 100 projects submitted totalling 1.8GW in response to an initial call for 925MW.
The Ministry of Energy Transition decided to designate 73 applications as winners, using all the flexibilities offered by the tender regime to select as many projects as possible.
The next period of the onshore wind tender will open on 9 October for a new demand of 925MW
Minister of Energy Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher said: “With this call for tenders, which supports an unprecedented level of renewable energy applications, we are proving that our country is resolutely committed to the energy transition.
“It is all low-carbon and competitive energy for the French at the service of our security of supply, our economic independence and our fight against climate change.”
