Energiequelle has started construction work of the 100MW Mikonkeita wind farm, on the border of Ostrobothnia and South Ostrobothnia in Finland.
The first step in the construction work is the removal of trees from the areas needed for construction (pictured).
Approximately 2.5% of the project area will have forestry removed for the wind farm.
Energiequelle said that during the removal of the park and, especially during the construction period, unnecessary movement in the area should be avoided due to large work machines.
After the completion of the park, the area will be free to use again and, for example, hunting and berry picking opportunities in the area will improve with the improvement of the road network.
Construction work will continue during 2023 with the construction of the infrastructure of the wind farm and the foundations of the power plants.
The building of the wind turbines will begin in 2024, and the entire park is to be put into commercial use by the beginning of 2025 at the latest.
