Energiequelle and Aedes Energies have formed a joint venture to develop a more than 100MW solar portfolio in France.
The holding company Aedes-Energiequelle will carry several PV project companies with the goal to develop more than 100MW of capacity in the country.
The initial portfolio currently consists of various greenfield sites in the départments of Dordogne, Lot-et-Garonne, Nièvre, Gers and Haute-Marne and will gradually be completed with further projects, Energiequelle said.
Depending on the suitability of individual sites, the electricity produced will be marketed either via feed-in tariff or direct power purchase agreements while first commissioning dates are planned to start in 2025, the company added.
Within the framework of this cooperation, Aedes Energies is responsible for project development until official permits are granted.
Meanwhile, P&T Technologie, Energiequelle’s French subsidiary, is in charge of technical development aspects, construction and subsequent plant management.
Energiequelle, in turn, will manage the financing and sale of the projects from its base in Germany once completed.
Aedes Energies president and chief executive officer Thomas Guirous said: “This additional partnership fully contributes to our strategy of growth and territorial expansion in France.
“The ability of our teams to generate and develop new RE projects is recognized by all our partners.”
Energiequelle Wind project acquisitions and partnerships in France Kristina Greene said: “With Aedes, we are strengthening our market position in France and expanding our PV portfolio.
“This is important because photovoltaics are becoming a pillar of our business activities in France alongside the wind business.”
P&T Technologie director of business development Sébastien Boursier said: “Discussions with the Aedes team are always based on a high degree of trust.
“We look forward to our cooperation and working on joint projects.”
Energiequelle said that, together with its subsidiary P&T Technologie, it has been active on the French market since 2010 and has since connected over 240MW of wind and PV capacity to the grid.
