Voltalia has begun construction of a 24MW wind project in France.
The 23.6MW Sud Vannier wind farm is located in Haute-Marne, about 25 km south-east of the city of Langres.
Sud Vannier benefits from a 20-year sales contract with a guaranteed rate.
Commissioning is planned for the first half of 2023.
It will be the first Voltalia wind farm in the Grand-Est and the third wind farm in the Lorraine region after Sarry (23.1MW) and Molinons (10MW), located within a radius of about 150 km of the Sud Vannier project.
Sud Vannier will cover the domestic electricity needs (excluding heating) of about 15% of the population of the Haute-Marne department.
The Grand-Est region is an important development territory for Voltalia as the wind resource is good and the region’s goal is to be positive energy and low carbon by 2050, the developer said.
