SSE has gone to market for key construction contracts, including foundations and array cables, for the up to 800MW Arklow Bank 2 offshore wind farm off the coast of Ireland.
A tender for foundations includes the fabrication, storage and load out of monopiles and transition pieces, if applicable, as well as responsibility for secondary and tertiary steel.
The scope covers responsibility for all project management, quality management, health and safety management, interface cooperation management, fabrication engineering, temporary works, fabrication supply chain management, materials, procurement, load out activities and logistics required to safely deliver the works.
Another tender has also been issued for transport and installation of the foundations.
SSE is also seeking a company to supply, transport and install the project’s array cables.
The scope of the contract includes responsibility for the design, supply, manufacture, storage, load out, transportation, installation, burial, protection, testing and commissioning of the array cable 66kV system.
All the contracts would run for two years. Applications have to be submitted by midday on 24 February.
Separately, SSE has issued a tender covering supply, fabrication, storage, load out, transportation, install, testing, commissioning and completion of monopiles and transition pieces, if applicable.
This tender also includes an option for supply, transport and installation of array cables, transport and installation of the offshore substation platform and foundation, provision of scour protection and substructure design responsibility and certification support.
This contract would run for three years.
