Wind Energy Ireland has unveiled a shortlist for its delayed 2021 awards that includes companies such as SSE, Vestas and Statkraft.
There are 11 categories, including Best Project, Champion of Renewables, Excellence in Construction and Wind Energy in the Community.
In the running for the Best Project award are Capital Dynamics for its Castlegore wind farm, ESB for the Grousemount wind farm and Enerpower for Kepak.
Champion of Renewables will be decided between Paul Deane from UCC, Energia Renewables’ Seamus Hegarty and Kevin O’Donovan from Statkraft.
Statkraft could also take the Excellence in Construction prize in competition with H&MV Engineering.
Wind Energy in the Community is between SSE Renewables, Energia Renewables and Bord na Mona.
Vestas, H&MV Engineering and Logan Energy Engineering are shortlisted for the Excellence in Operations and Maintenance award.
Exemplary Health and Safety Performance will be between Adman Civil Projects, EnergyPro and Greencoat Renewables.
Innovision Media, LiveDilligence and Dublin Offshore are shortlisted in the Outstanding Innovation category, while one of ElectroRoute and Kerry Educational and Training Board will win the Excellence in Training & Development award.
Ionic Consulting, MKO and Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions are up for the Best Professional Practice and Nature + Energy and SSE Renewables for the Sustainable Development prize.
Young Person of the Year award will go to Statkraft’s Sarah Hayes and Hannah Mulcahy or Cian Brogan from Energia Renewable Generation.
The event should have been held on 3 December but has been postponed to 11 March because of Covid-19.
