Orsted has reported a malfunction and fire in the nacelle at one of its turbines at the Borssele 1 and 2 offshore wind farm off the coast of the Netherlands.
No employees were present when the fire broke out and no one was injured, Orsted said.
The turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa is investigating the cause of the failure in close cooperation with Orsted.
The damaged turbine is being dismantled to identify which parts can possibly be reused, stated Orsted.
The remaining 93 turbines of Borssele 1 and 2 show no deviations and the wind farm will continue to run, with the exception of the damaged turbine and two other turbines that are directly connected to it.
These two turbines have suffered no damage and show no deviations and Orsted is working to get these two turbines back online as soon as possible.
