Jan De Nul has completed work to rebury a section of the export cable for the Luchterduinen offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.
The contractor modified its in-house designed and fabricated intertidal trencher Sunfish and successfully reburied the nearshore section of the cable to a minimum depth of two and half metres below the seabed.
Due to morphological changes the export cable risked becoming exposed, so Eneco requested a reburial campaign.
The Sunfish lowered the nearshore part of the cable working up to one km offshore and at water depths of eight and half metres.
