Vestas wins 38MW UK turbine order

Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas booked a further 588MW of turbine orders in Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands and the US as the second quarter of the year came to an end.

In the US, V150-4.2MW hardware totalling 278MW was ordered for an unnamed client and project that has total nameplate capacity of 302MW including previously purchased 4MW components.

Delivery will begin in the second quarter of 2021 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of that year.

The contract includes supply and commissioning of the turbines as well as a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreement.

Vestas also secured a 151MW deal in Canada with Capital Power for the 97MW Whitla Wind 2 and 54MW Whitla Wind 3 projects in Alberta.

V136-3.45MW turbines will be delivered in 3.6MW power optimised mode for both wind farms.

The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines as well as a 10-year service

Turbine delivery and commissioning are scheduled for 2021.

In France, Vestas won contracts totalling 74MW for four wind farms.

These include nine V136-3.6MW machines for Elicio’s Le Haut Plateau wind farm.

The deal also has a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement.

Turbine delivery will begin in the third quarter of 2021, with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of the same year.

Valeco ordered eight V100-2.2MW turbines and eight V117-3.0MW machines for three projects in France.

The name and location of the projects are undisclosed.

Delivery and commissioning are scheduled for the first half of 2021.

In the Netherlands, Vestas is supplying 10 V117-3.6MW turbines for the repowering of Vattenfall’s Jaap Rodenburg 2 project.

The repowering project will replace the 10 V66 turbines and will more than double the installed capacity at the location.

Deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2021, while commissioning is planned for the second quarter of the same year.

The project will feature a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution and a 10-year AOM 5000 service agreement.

In Italy, Vestas will deliver turbines totalling 49MW to two projects in the Campania region for an unnamed client.

The order comprises six V110-2.2MW and 10 V117-3.6MW machines, as well as a five-year AOM 5000 service agreement.

Delivery and commissioning are planned for the first half 2021.

The names of the wind parks are undisclosed as per customer request.
