Vestas has secured turbine orders totalling 1.7GW from several global markets to mark its regular end of quarter charge.
The pick of the bunch is a deal to supply and commission V120-2.2MW units under a ten-year service deal for a 454MW project in the US.
Delivery will begin in the third quarter of this year with commissioning scheduled 12 months later at the unnamed project.
Also in the US, an unnamed customer has ordered V150-4.2MW turbines for undisclosed 95MW and 173MW projects.
Commissioning is included as is a service deal with the wind farms due online in the third and fourth quarters of net year.
The manufacturer has meanwhile been tapped to supply V150-4.2MW and V110-2.0MW for another unnamed 242MW project in the country.
The deal includes supply, commissioning and a 25-year service agreement.
Delivery of the hardware will start in the first quarter of 2020 and commissioning will take place in the third quarter of the same year.
In Brazil, EDF has ordered 47 V150-4.2MW units for the 197MW Folha Larga 2 wind farm in the Campo Formoso in the state of Bahia.
Delivery of components is scheduled for the second half of 2020 with commissioning planned in the first quarter of 2020.
The deal brings Vestas past 2GW of orders for the model in Brazil nine months after it was launched in the country.
“Reaching this goal with our trusted customer EDF underlines our strong partnership in Brazil and we look forward to taking the next steps forward together,” said Vestas Brazil managing director Rogerio Zampronha.
Brazilian energy company Echoenergia has signed a deal for the supply of hardware for the 76MW Serra do Mel 3 project in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, also in Brazil.
The deal includes installation of 18 V150-4.2MW turbines with 120-metre towers and a service agreement for ten years.
Delivery of hardware will begin in the second quarter next year and commissioning due by end-quarter three 2020.
Vestas has also received a 281MW order for three unnamed wind farms where a total of 67 V150-4.2MW machines will feature.
Delivery is expected to start in 2021, with commissioning planned by the end of the same year.
In Central America, the Danish manufacturer has bagged its debut order in El Salvador for the 54MW Ventus wind farm, the country’s first utility-scale site.
The turnkey deal with the Grupo Luz y Fuerza and Grupo Centrans joint venture includes 15 V136-3.6MW turbines and a 20-year service deal.
Turbine delivery is due in the second quarter of 2020 with commissioning in the third quarter of the same year.
“We are really proud to pioneer wind energy in El Salvador together with Ventus and Tracia Network Corporation,” said region sales vice president Agustín Sanchez Tembleque.
“This new milestone allows us to extend Vestas’ global footprint and reinforce our presence in Central America, while we continue supporting Latin America’s transition to renewables.”
In China, Vestas has also secured its first 4MW platform order in the Chinese market, with an 11MW deal with an unnamed client and project.
The order includes a two-year Active Output Management 4000 service agreement, with delivery and commissioning expected to start in the third quarter of 2019.
