The Danish authorities are considering a number of modifications to the tender process for the up-to-1GW Thor offshore wind farm following initial consultations with potential bidders.
The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) and transmission operator Energinet have published responses to questions developers asked about the planned 2021 tender at a bidders’ information day last November.
The DEA said it has already committed to giving developers an extra 30 days to lodge bids during the tender process and said is contemplating raising the number of bidders that will qualify for the final round of the tender.
A raft of minor changes covering grid connection, tender format, site design and environmental permitting are still under consideration.
The Energy Agency will publish its final tender design for Thor in Q3 this year
The project site is located 20km off the coast of Jutland and is due to come online in 2027.
