Siemens Gamesa chief executive Markus Tacke is looking forward to working more closely with Siemens, following the latter’s agreement to buy Iberdrola’s 8.1% stake in the turbine manufacturer.
Tacke said the company “recognizes the potential in working more closely with Siemens and to capture the €100m in synergies outlined in the announcement it made yesterday”.
He added: “A closer cooperation in areas such as procurement can only be to the benefit of Siemens Gamesa, our customers and our shareholders, and our team is committed to delivering that value to our stakeholders.”
Tacke also said Siemens Gamesa was pleased to have signed a future cooperation agreement with Iberdrola.
He said Iberdrola has been a “pioneer and visionary” in the renewable energy industry and a “valued customer and partner” of the company.
