Vestas has secured two turbine orders totalling 589MW with unnamed clients for undisclosed wind farms in the US.
One deal covers supply and commissioning of V120-2.2MW machines totalling 359MW, as well as a 10-year service agreement.
Delivery is planned for the first quarter of 2020 with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of that year.
Vestas said that including previously purchased V112-3.45MW components, the project has a total nameplate capacity of 400MW.
“The mixed platform site configuration demonstrates both the flexibility of Vestas’ 2 and 4MW platforms, and Vestas’ ability to create tailor made site layouts designed to optimise the site’s wind resources,” the company said.
The second deal is for supply and commissioning of V136-3.6MW turbines with combined capacity of 230MW and also includes a 20-year service agreement.
Delivery will start in the second quarter of 2020 with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of the same year.
Vestas said that including previously purchased 2MW components, the project has a total nameplate capacity of 241MW.
