Italy will open its next renewable support auction on 30 September after the country’s court of audit approved plans for seven auctions that will incentivise 4700MW of new commercial projects.
September’s 500MW auction will be the first held in the country since 2016.

Further auction rounds are due to be held in late January, May and September of 2020 and 2021.
The first two rounds will offer up 500MW, the next three 700MW and the final two 800MW.
State body Gestore dei Servizi Energetici will run the process.
The technology neutral auctions will see onshore wind projects compete with solar to secure supports and developers can bid projects in at between €21 and €68 per megawatt-hour.
