NKT has commissioned the 170kV HVAC cable system for the 400MW Kriegers Flak combined grid solution between Germany and Denmark.
The cables connect the Danish 605MW Kriegers Flak offshore wind project with the platform of the 288MW Baltic 2 wind farm in German waters.
NKT executive vice president and head of high-voltage solutions Andreas Berthou said: “We are proud to be part of the innovative project connecting Denmark and Germany.
“It is an important step that strengthen the transmission security and the ability to share the capacity of renewable energy across Europe.
