Portuguese company ASM Offshore has started test operations at its new fabrication yard at the port of Aveiro in Portugal, which will produce towers and foundations for the offshore wind sector.
The testing is expected to last about two months to calibrate and commission equipment ahead of production ramping up, the company said.

Parent company ASM Industries has invested €29m in the new facilities, which cover 72,000 metres squared in the port’s logistics and industrial activities zone.
It was supported by co-financing from the Compete 2020 and Portugal 2020 programmes and the EU’s European Structural and Development Funds.
