The 385MW Arkona wind farm in the German North Sea will be officially opened at a ceremony tomorrow attended by Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The first of the project’s 60 Siemens Gamesa 6.45MW turbines was installed last July and first power was delivered in September.

The ceremony will also be attended by Johannes Teyssen and Jon Erik Reinhardsen, the respective chief executive and chairman of joint project owners Eon and Equinor.
Other attendees will include Mecklenburg-West Pommerani state prime minister and 50Hertz chairman Christiaan Peeters.
