Danish authorities have invited potential bidders in the country’s looming up to 1GW offshore wind tender to a technical dialogue session in Copenhagen.
Slated for 13 May, the session will allow bidders and technical experts to discuss the breadth and depth of feasibility studies for the so-called Thor wind farm.
The talks will focus on geophysical and cable surveys, geotechnical investigations, unexploded ordnance and archeology, metocean studies and environmental assessments.
A separate session has also been planned for October to mull other aspects of the project, including its timetable and tendering conditions, the Danish Energy Agency said.
The tender for the rights to develop an offshore wind farm at the project site will be held later this year, with power due online between 2024 and 2027.
Denmark’s new energy policy, revealed last June, will also involve two subsequent rounds of at least 800MW each, to offer a combined minimum Danish capacity boost of 2.4GW by 2030.
