Eiffage through its subsidiary Smulders has confirmed a €250m contract to fabricate 55 jacket foundations for EDPR’s 950MW Moray East offshore wind farm off Scotland.
The French construction group said it will assemble the components at Smulders facilities in north-east England.
Smulders and Eiffage Metal plants in the UK, France, Belgium and Poland will fabricate parts for the foundations, which will be 85 metres tall and weigh 1000 tonnes.
The remaining 45 foundations for the project’s 100 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines will be produced by Lamprell in the UAE.
Lamprell will also produce a further three jackets for the project’s Siemens OTM topsides, which Smulders is building at European facilities.
The foundations will be installed by Belgian contractor DEME Offshore starting in the fourth quarter of this year.
