Anglo-Dutch energy major Shell is considering offshore wind opportunities in the UK.
The company could bid for development rights on offer in the Crown Estate’s fourth round of offshore wind lease awards this year, according to Shell vice president of wind development Dorine Bosman in an interview with The Times newspaper.

Bosman said in the interview that Shell would also look at opportunities to buy into proposed projects that have already been granted leases and which will compete for subsidies later this year.
Shell added that the UK as a key market for offshore wind where it currently does not own any assets, the Times reported.
