Enel Green Power has started commercial operations at its 185MW HillTopper wind farm in the US state of Illinois.
The $325m project, located in Logan County, is supported by three power purchase agreements with Bloomberg, General Motors and Exelon company Constellation.
It will generate 570 gigawatt-hours of electricity a year, Enel Green Power said.
General Motors will buy 100MW, with 17MW going to Bloomberg and 23MW to Constellation.
Enel Green Power head Antonio Cammisecra said: “The completion of HillTopper represents our commitment to continued growth, through expansion into new areas and markets to serve new corporate and industrial customers.”
“Through this first project in Illinois, we are helping our customers meet their clean energy goals with competitive solutions that adapt to their power needs and business objectives.”
