Nordex Group is to supply 16 N117/3600 turbines to the Hoort wind farm cluster in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany.
The 57.6MW project is being jointly developed by Loscon and Energieagentur Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, a subsidiary of municipal utility WEMAG.
Loscon will receive 10 turbines and Energieagentur Mecklenburg-Vorpommern the remaining six. All of the hardware will have 117-metre rotors and 141-metre hub heights.
The deal also includes a 15-year service contract with an option to be extended a further five years. Nordex said it will also be setting up a service point for maintenance of the wind farm.
Hoort was awarded contracts in Germany’s third onshore wind auction round in August.
Construction will start by the end of the year, with turbines to be installed in the summer of 2019.
Hoort will be the largest wind farm currently under construction in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Nordex said.
It will produce about 150,000 megawatt-hours of electricity once operational.
