Vestas has secured a range of turbine orders as part of a now-traditional late quarter sales push.
In Argentina, Vestas has secured a 53MW turbine supply order from Aluar Aluminio’s Llano 3 wind farm.
The Danish manufacturer will supply V136 machines optimised to 3.8MW for the project in Chubut province.
The order builds on 111MW secured for the first two phases at Llano.
Delivery is planned for the fourth quarter of 2019 and turbines will be manufactured at a new assembly plant near Buenos Aires. The deal includes a 20-year service agreement.
“Vestas has a strong commitment to Argentina’s energy transition and we are proud to work with partners who share the same vision,” said the company.
In India, Vestas will supply 100MW of turibnes to Sitac and EDF for a project in Gujarat.
V120 2.2MW machines will be delivered starting in 2019 with the project expected online before the end of that year.
“This order underlines the broad range of capabilities we offer our Indian customers,” said Vestas.
In Finland, WPD confirmed selectiong of Vestas V150 4.2MW machines for its Kuuronkallio project in the Kalajoki region on the west coast.
“Vestas’s ability to offer a strong business case was important for the success of the wind project as is the result of several years of collaboration, experience and hard work,” said WPD.
Kuuronkallio will erect turbines in the second half of 2019. The supply deal included a 20-year service package.
In the US, Vestas has received its first order for V150 4.2MW turbines as part of a 324MW haul across three different projects.
Deliveries to undisclosed wind farms will kick off in the third quarter of 2019 and include 252MW of the V150s and 72MW of V136s.
The V150 will also be delivered to the German market for the first time with Notus Energy ordering two of the machines along with a single V136 for the Lubbenow 2 & 3 projects in Brandenburg.
In Canada, Vestas will deliver 60MW of V136 turbines to an undisclosed project with deliver and commissioning due in 2019.
