Vestas has won a turnkey contract for the 181MW Berrybank wind farm west of Geelong in the state of Victoria, Australia.
The Danish manufacturer will supply and install 43 of its V136 4.2MW turbines with hubs at 112-metres at the Global Power Generation.
Hardware is designed to “maximise the performance of the site’s specific wind conditions” and will go live in 2020.
Vestas will establish a renewable energy hub in Geelong on the back of the deal. Berrybank is one of six winning bids for Victoria’s 928MW renewable energy tender.
“The initiative will help Victorian industry build capabilities within turbine assembly, subcomponent supply, wind park maintenance, logistics and advanced materials and manufacturing science,” said Vestas.
The deal includes a multi-year service deal.
In Sweden, Vestas confirmed an order for 10 V136 4.2MW turbines for the Brannliden wind farm.
