Siemens Gamesa is planning to build nacelles for 3.4MW wind turbines in Russia.
The manufacturer will work with a joint venture Siemens has set up in the eastern European country to develop gas turbines, using the latter’s facilities to build the nacelles.
Siemens Gamesa described the potential for wind power in Russia as “huge”.
The company is already a technology partner with Enel on two projects – a 90MW wind farm in the Rostov region and a 201MW plant in Murmansk.
