The US has a 25GW pipeline of offshore wind projects with around 2GW of the total expected to be online by 2023.
Department of Energy figures released this week show the East Coast continues to lead the charge.
The total pipeline is comprised of 3.9GW of “project-specific capacity” and 21GW of undeveloped lease area capacity.
States leading the way include Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maryland, New York and New Jersey, said the DoE.
