German bearing specialist IMO has presented a blade bearing retrofit kit ahead of the Hamburg WindEnergy trade show.
The kit is intended as a solution to prematurely failing four-point contact ball bearings, which according to the company can deform prematurely during standard operations.
The solution is based on the T-Solid product family and can replace failing blade bearings in 2MW and 3MW class turbines.
The new IMO offering does not generate any additional radial load during load transfer in contrast to the four-point contact bearings, said the company,
The kit is manufacturer independent and is suitable for all turbines and blade bearings.
