VolkerInfra has won a contract to help with onshore work at the 714MW East Anglia 1 offshore wind farm off the UK east coast.
The company will work with Visser & Smit Hanab to connect the duct routes for export cables at 20 locations in the Ipswich and Felixstowe areas via directional drilling and auger boring.
VolkerInfra said the EA1 job will start shortly and will run through to September 2018.
The ducts will be installed through drilled bores ranging in size from 225 millimetres to 800 millimetres in diameter and 50 metres to 1km in length.
VolkerInfra project director James Worth said: “We are delighted to be awarded this contract by Scottish Power which demonstrates our unique end to end service offering and expertise within this specialist field.”
Following a review, VolkerInfra and Visser & Smit Hanab plan to formalise the relationship by creating a joint venture that will launched in the new year.
