A2Sea jack-up Sea Challenger has installed 28 of the 67 Siemens 6MW turbines for Statoil’s 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm off the coast of Norfolk.
The vessel is currently installing its latest cargo of four turbines at the site, which when completed will edge construction towards the halfway point.
Eighteen of the installed turbines have been fully commissioned and handed over to Statoil. Commissioning work will continue until into the fourth quarter of this year.
Scour protection will also be added to each of the wind farm’s monopile foundations this month.
The scour work will be led by Van Oord side stone dumping vessel Ham 601, and is expected to last until mid-June.
