Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) has contracted German outfit Recase Regenerative Energien to design electrical equipment for transition pieces at the 200MW Borkum West 2.2 offshore wind farm off the coast of Germany.
SHL has the EPCI contract for the project’s foundations and has subcontracted Recase to supply the electrical design for the E-Module in the transition pieces.
The comprehensive subsystem engineering ranges from the medium voltage switchgear, via sea markings to the wind turbine interface, Recase said.
Recase managing director Lorenz Carstensen said: “The electrical outfit of offshore substructures matches 100% with our expertise, experience and capacity.”
Borkum West 2.2 will feature 32 Senvion 6M/152 turbines and is planned for completion in autumn 2019.
