Four adapter rings have been fixed to A2Sea’s Sea Installer jack-up ready to aid turbine installation at the 573MW Race Bank offshore wind farm.
Installation of 91 Siemens 6MW turbines is scheduled to start at the end of April.
The rings were installed on the vessel at Hvide Sande harbour in Denmark, following delivery by Valmont SM.
A2Sea said Sea Installer will depart Hvide Sande this week for mobilisation at WD Close in Newcastle.
When the vessel arrives in Newcastle, the adapter rings will be bolted ready to carry four Siemens towers to the Race Bank site off the UK east coast, the company said.
