Innogy Renewables UK will start construction work this week at the 32.8MW Mynydd y Gwair wind farm in Wales.
The 16-turbine project, which is located approximately 15km north of Swansea, will be built over the next two years.
It will feature Senvion MM92 turbines each rated at 2.05MW.
Innogy said the work this week will see south Wales civil engineering and construction company Dawnus start to mobilise the site and undertake preparatory ground works.
The company has a contract for the initial works, constructing the site entrance, access tracks and widening existing roads where needed and will employ around 20 people.
The project represents a capital investment of about £52m and, once operational, the wind farm will also provide community investments for the local area worth £240,000 a year.
Mynydd y Gwair project manager Tim James said: “We are delighted to be starting the construction of Mynydd y Gwair wind farm and working with Dawnus Construction.”
