SolarWorld is to supply solar modules totalling 20MW for a ground-mounted photovoltaic project in Senegal.
The German company said 77,280 multicrystalline modules will be installed in the Kahone region, about 100km from the capital Dakar, by March 2017.
The project was tendered by the Senegalese power company Senelec.
SolarWorld chief executive Frank Asbeck said: “With this project, we are once again documenting that photovoltaics represent a safe, clean and affordable solution for millions of people.”
