SSE has completed the installation of 26 out of 33 GE 2.85MW turbines at its 94MW Dunmaglass wind farm in the Scottish Highlands.
The utility added that it has also cleared a path to full energisation of the wind farm.
A further six machines are at the “mid tower stage” and installation of another turbine is yet to get underway.
“It is fantastic news that we have manged to energise Dunmaglass wind farm this week and that’s down to a big push from all involved on the site and the professionalism of the project team,” said SSE director of generation development Paul Cooley.
“We are very pleased to be in this position with the site now capable of providing electricity.”
Turbine delivery to Dunmaglass kicked off in May. SSE said “favourable Scottish weather” has meant work on the site has progressed well.
The wind farm is expected to be fully operational in early 2017.
