RES and GE’s 240MW Ararat wind farm in Australia´s Victoria state has started generating electricity.
The project’s first five turbines are generating about 23MWh of power per day and 25 machines have been erected , its website shows.
When complete, the $450m wind farm will comprise 75 GE 3.2-103 wind turbines.
“It’s been less than a year since we broke ground on this site, and already 25 turbines have been erected and power is being sent back to the grid,” GE Wind´s general manager in the Asia Pacific region Peter Cowling said.
“The rate at which we are meeting critical milestones is a testament to the strength of this team.”
