Gamesa recorded net profit of €138m in the first half of 2016, up 42% when compared with the same period last year.
The profit included a hit of €13.5m from its Adwen offshore turbine joint venture with Areva, the company said in half-year results today.
Revenue between January and June hit €2.2bn up 33% on last year, on the back of strong growth in wind turbine manufacturing and sales.
The growth was mainly down to sales in India, which contributed 30% of sales during the period, followed by Latin America with 29%, Europe 22% and the US 14%.
Orders increased 16% to 1.18GW in the second quarter, with the order book at the end of June standing at 3.23GW.
Gamesa said the G114 2MW and 2.5MW turbines accounted for 55% of the order intake.
Operations and maintenance services brought in revenue of €228m, the Spanish manufacturer said.
