Falck Renewables has been granted permission by the Scottish government to build the eight-turbine Mochrum Fell wind farm in southwestern Scotland on appeal.
The developer successfully appealed local authority rejection of the project, which is planned for an area near Parton in Dumfries and Galloway.
A Scottish government reporter found that “there are no material considerations which justify refusing to grant planning permission” and ruled it could proceed, the appeal decision notice shows.
Dumfries and Galloway Council refused planning permission last June.
Falck reduced the wind farm’s size to mitigate its potential landscape and visual effects, eliminating three turbines and cutting the maximum height to 116.5m from 126.5m.
