North Dakota regulators have approved NextEra Energy Resources’ 150MW Brady wind project.
The Public Utilities Commission also granted a certificate for a 19-mile 230kV transmission line and associated facilities to connect the Stark County project to the regional grid.
NextEra anticipates completing the $250m wind farm by the end of 2016.
The commission is also reviewing NextEra’s application for the 150MW Brady 2 scheme located north of the Brady site. The wind farms will share the transmission line.
Basin Electric Power Cooperative will buy the output under 30-year power purchase agreements.
NextEra proposes to install up to 159 GE turbines in total – a mix of 1.715MW, 1.79MW and 2.1MW machines.
