Cornish wave developer Seatricity has repaired damage to the moorings of its Oceanus 2 device installed at the Wave Hub test site.
The Falmouth company said the damage was likely caused by a vessel colliding with positional tethers which float on, or near, the surface.
The repairs were conducted by local marine operations partners Seawide Services and Keynmor Morlift.
Seatricity operations director Andy Bristow said the company would make minor tweaks to the positional moorings to limit lateral movement of the buoy over its reactive tether in the strong tidal streams that run across the site.
Bristow added Seatricity would also continue to experiment with optimum valve settings to maximise power output in a range of conditions and have tested the hydraulic system’s capacity to hold pressure.
The 162kW device was redeployed at Wave Hub off the coast of Hayle last month.
