Nordic Yards has loaded out the second part of the split jacket foundation for the 900MW Dolwin gamma substation.
The shipyard built the 5000 tonne steel construction in about 18 months at its Stralsund facility.
The first part of the foundation was loaded out last week from the Nordic Yards plant in Wismar.
Both parts will be installed almost 30 meters deep at the construction site North of Borkum island in the North Sea, some 162km away from the Dorpen West onshore substation.
The topside, currently being finalized by Nordic Yards in Warnemunde, is slated to be loaded out this summer.
Commissioning of the grid hub is scheduled for 2017.
