A2Sea has signed agreements with two UK shipyards for the Dudgeon and Burbo Bank 2 offshore wind farms.
The Danish turbine installer has selected A&P Tyne for the 402MW Dudgeon and Cammell Laird for the 256MW Burbo projects in England, it said without giving more details.
Increasing local content is part of A2Sea’s strategy to bring down the cost of levelized energy, the company added.
“It is the first time, we are mobilising in the UK,” said A2Sea chief executive Jens Frederik Hansen. “Our sea fastening will be produced in the UK, too, and we look forward to strengthening our working relationship with UK suppliers.”
