A2Sea’s Sea Installer jack-up vessel is currently mobilising in Liverpool in preparation to install 32 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines at Dong Energy’s 258MW Burbo Bank 2 offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.
A2Sea said sea fastening for towers, nacelles and blades is currently being installed at the yard in Liverpool, with the vessel scheduled to depart at the end of August for the Belfast load out port.
The Dutch company said it is currently establishing a site office in Belfast.
The turbine components have already arrived in Belfast.
Turbine installation is scheduled to take three months, after which Sea Installer will move on to its next project, also for Dong, on the 573MW Race Bank offshore wind farm off the Norfolk coast in the UK.
