Siemens has contracted Oslo energy consultancy Aqualis to assess the wind turbine service operations performed by an unnamed jack-up vessel.
The vessel, chartered by the German company, will be used to maintain offshore turbines on wind farms in the North Sea.
Aqualis Offshore will conduct generic assessments to cover a range of water depths and environmental conditions where the vessel is scheduled, it said.
The contract value was undisclosed.
Aqualis Offshore chief executive David Wells said: “Our task is to help determine the criteria that a given jack-up vessel can operate most efficiently and safely within.”
