Vestas is to supply 22 V126 3.45MW turbines to Fortum Generation for the Solberg wind farm in Västernorrland in northern Sweden.
The deal includes Vestas’ de-icing system, as well as supply, installation and commissioning of the units.
It also involves a five-year active output management service agreement.
Turbine delivery is expected to start in the third quarter of 2017, with commissioning starting in the fourth quarter.
Finnish outfit Fortum plans to develop the project with Swedish power company Skellefteå Kraft, Vestas said.
Fortum senior vice president, M&A and solar & wind development Kari Kautinen said: “The Solberg project done in collaboration with leading partners in the sector, supports our ambition of growing within wind and solar, through development of new projects and selective acquisitions.”
Vestas Northern Europe president Klaus Steen Mortensen said: “We are happy to announce our first project with Fortum, which we will work to ensure is only the beginning of a great collaboration with both Fortum and Skellefteå Kraft in the years to come.”
