Offshore marine and engineering consultancy Aqualis Offshore and China Ship Design & Research Center are to cooperate on engineering projects in China and around the world.
CSDC, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corp, is the largest shipbuilding group in China and also specialises in offshore engineering services.
The companies will cooperate in engineering, project management, research, innovation and marketing.
A major objective is to develop a joint engineering service to offshore newbuild projects in China and elsewhere, the companies said.
They will provide a joint engineering service to all offshore projects, including jack-ups, TLPs, spars, semi-submersibles and FPSOs.
The partners will also provide FEED services, including conceptual design, basic design and national research projects, plus detailed design engineering service for transportation and offshore installation of fixed platforms, floating structures and subsea facilities.
Aqualis Offshore country manager in China Peng Yongfei said: “CSDC has a clear advantage that it can provide engineering services to CSIC’s yards in China.
“We will ensure that we will provide CSDC with competitive offshore engineering competence and capacity whenever it is required.”
