Developers hoping to build a 600MW offshore wind farm at Kriegers Flak in the Danish Baltic Sea must file preliminary bids by lunchtime.
Seven bidders are in the running for the rights to build the project with offers due at the Danish Energy Agency by 13.00 CET on 5 April.
Binding bids are required by 8 November with a winner to be named soon afterwards based on the sole criteria of price per kilowatt-hour. Full operations are required by the end of 2021.
Dong Energy and Vattenfall pre-qualified to bid, as did Eon Denmark with partner Statoil.
Danish company European Energy is working with Canadian company Boralex on its bid while WPD has teamed up with Hofor and Stadtwerke Munchen.
Baltic development veteran EnBW as well as Iberdrola, which recently kicked off work at the nearby 350MW Wikinger, are also clear to file separate bids.
Vattenfall won the rights to build the 400MW Horns Rev 3 in the North Sea with a bid of 77 ore/kWh.
