Municipal utility group Trianel has fully commissioned the 9.6MW Hunfelden wind farm in Hesse, Germany, some 25km north of Wiesbaden.
Construction of four Nordex N117/2400 machines with tip heights of 199 metres started last year.
The turbines (pictured) are expected to produce up to 24m kilowatt hours of electricity per year, enough for 7,500 households. Final checks of the wind farm will last until early April.
“By 2018 we are planning to expand our onshore wind and open space photovoltaics portfolio by 275MW,” said Trianel Erneuerbare Energien executive Christoph Schöpfer.
“We are looking for suitable projects, areas, and partners all over Germany.”
