A2Sea vessel Sea Installer is loading MHI Vestas 8MW turbines at Belfast Harbour ahead of installation at Dong Energy’s 258MW Burbo Bank 2 offshore wind farm.
The jack-up is expected to erect the first of 32 machines in the near future as part of an ongoing construction programme in the Irish Sea.
Installation of the V164s at Burbo 2 is due to take around three months, depending on the weather.
The Round 2.5 wind farm marks the commercial debut of the 8MW machine.
Components manufactured in the UK and Denmark have been arriving at the Northern Ireland port since earlier this summer.
